A prime example of unethical legal advertising is a law firm that hired a New York firefighter to advertise that the law firm was working with people who were sick or injured as a result of 9/11. However, the firefighter in the advertisement was not even a firefighter in the year 2001. The false advertising rules for lawyers and law firms apply to all media which included broadcast, print, digital and social media among others.
