Co-founder and owner Adam Devlin was reappointed to Philadelphia Mayor Kenney’s Commission on People with Disabilities. The commission focuses on creating policies that support the inclusion of those who identify with a cognitive or physical disability. Devlin serves as the chair of the Behavioral Health Committee emphasizing hope, recovery, and equality for the Philadelphia community.

The Bucks County Herald reported that Penn Community Bank, the region’s leading independent, mutual bank, announced that President and CEO Jeane M. Vidoni was elected as the Pennsylvania Member Director for the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) of Pittsburgh’s Board of Directors. She will serve a four-year term beginning on Jan. 1, 2019. On October 3, Bucks County Opportunity Council presented an award to Penn Community Bank for its 20-years of support to the Economic Self-Sufficiency Program.
The Intelligencer noted that Chief Administrative Officer Diane Brown was appointed president of Children’s Developmental Program in Richland Township. Serving on the board since 2013, Brown most recently served as interim president. In other news, Brown was appointed to the Administrative Committee of the American Bankers Association’s Mutual Institutions Council.

The Idaho Press announced that partner Wendy Olsen was named president-elect of the Idaho Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. The award recognizes leaders who have made significant contributions to improving Idaho and the lives of its residents.
Idaho and Sacramento Innovation Awards finalists were announced. The awards for Idaho were given out on Oct. 17 while the Sacramento awards were announced on Nov. 1.
The Idaho Business Review mentioned two Stoel Rives awards. The firm won the Construction Lawyers Society of America Law Firm Award, and the 2018 Diversity Law Institute Law Firm Diversity Award at the 2018 CLSA International Conference & Induction of Fellows.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette wrote that Richard Poulson, representing the Fraternal Order of Police in Pittsburgh, argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court about the city’s compensation package for its police officers.
Marianne Henry Saylor’s article, “Pursuing Unreasonable Contest Attorney Fees in Workers’ Compensation Cases” was featured in The Legal Intelligencer’s Oct. 26th edition.
CBS reporter Cherri Gregg interviewed Willig, Williams & Davidson partner Michael Dryden who represented Philadelphia firefighter Scott Sladek in a case that set a precedent for firefighters across Pennsylvania. After being diagnosed with malignant melanoma, Sladek had difficulty proving a workers’ compensation case to the City of Philadelphia. Dryden argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in Fire Dept. vs. W.C.A.B. (Sladek). The court’s decision is the first to decisively address the burden of proof placed upon a firefighter or firefighter dependent under the Cancer Presumption Provisions added to the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act in 2011.
