The Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer recently shared the news that First Federal of Bucks County joined Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County in April to break ground for a new home to be built for a family in Bristol Township. It is the 101st Habitat home to be built in Bucks County since the nonprofit began operating locally. First Federal of Bucks County donated the land for the house and is one of the sponsors of the building project.
The Philadelphia Business Journal notes the launch of a new partnership between Doylestown’s Baruch S. Blumberg Institute and the University of Pennsylvania. The arrangement will offer graduate students in the Master of Chemical Sciences program the ability to complete research at the Blumberg Institute, the nation’s leading nonprofit research organization dedicated to hepatitis B and liver cancer.
The Hepatitis B Foundation held its annual Crystal Ball in April, raising $110,000 for the fight against the hepatitis B virus, the most common serious liver infection in the world.
