With more than 130 attorneys in four offices nationwide, Chamberlain Hrdlicka is a diversified law firm with particularly deep expertise in tax law and tax controversy. Furia Rubel was retained to assist the Philadelphia office of the Am Law 200 law firm with public relations, strategic planning and execution of an integrated marketing campaign. The challenge was to generate more focused and local media coverage and increase brand recognition and awareness in the Philadelphia market and surrounding region.

Research determined that the firm’s major strength as a tax boutique was a vital part of its local and national identity and differentiation. In addition, lateral attorneys whose practice areas were focused elsewhere helped lay the groundwork for a campaign to promote the growth, expansion and diversification of the Philadelphia office.

Furia Rubel focused on the growth of the Philadelphia office with Am Law 200 law firm public relations strategy to bring visibility to the firm. The agency executed a media relations campaign surrounding the firm’s seven lateral hires over two years. A key lateral hire was Kenneth Trujillo, the former solicitor for the City of Philadelphia. The announcement of his hiring resulted in national legal media placements in Law360 and The American Lawyer, as well as placements in local media including The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Business Journal.

Furia Rubel continued to support the growth of the Philadelphia office with marketing and public relations strategies. For the announcement of the firm’s Philadelphia office expansion in the summer of 2017, Furia Rubel again executed a media relations campaign that resulted in media placements that reached Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s target audiences. In addition, the agency created and implemented an email marketing strategy that allows the firm to share its key messages with targeted contacts.
