Brenda Plowman is a business executive with over 25 years of experience in global marketing, communications, strategic planning, and business development within professional services. She has collaborated with businesses and executives across accounting, legal, engineering and financial services industries, delivering transformative strategies and measurable results.
For nearly 20 years, Brenda was with one of Canada’s largest law firms, culminating in her role as Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer for the last decade. During her tenure, she led strategy, communications and crisis management, marketing technology, business development, brand development, thought leadership, and marketing and positioning over 50 practice areas, industries and specialties. Her notable accomplishments include redefining its practice and industry structure, spearheading two major brand refreshes, enhancing ranking strategy to elevate the firm’s positioning and building its first-ever client service excellence program.
Today, Brenda works with law firms and their clients to raise the bar on strategic design and brand differentiation, driving improved market positioning while concurrently constructing a roadmap for future sustainable growth and expansion. She is adept at influencing senior leadership, fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders, and leading organizations through transformational change management. She is an expert in crisis strategy and communications, advising law firms and organizations of all sizes on navigating complex challenges with confidence.
An advocate for community service, Brenda has demonstrated leadership through her board roles, including serving multiple years on the International Legal Marketing Association Board, culminating as President. Additionally, she has contributed at the local, provincial, and national levels of the Chambers of Commerce at all levels.
