As a Media Relations Manager, Becky is responsible for building and managing strong relationships with key media outlets. Becky plays a vital role in developing comprehensive strategies and content that aligns with our client’s goals and amplifies their brand and expertise. With a keen eye for cultivating relationships with journalists and media outlets, Becky ensures our clients’ stories are effectively communicated to relevant audiences. She continuously monitors media coverage and inquiries for opportunities and has a proven track record for securing placements in top-tier, national outlets.

Prior to joining Furia Rubel, Becky worked in legal marketing at a top public relations firm in San Francisco for three years. There, she was responsible for pitching media and supporting the PR team with various marketing tasks. She successfully secured placements in top-tier, national and online publications for multiple clients in the legal, technology and finance space.

Becky spent more than 20 years as a professional journalist, writing for national and local publications, including the American City Business Journals, Bank Director Magazine, Real Estate Northern California and many more.

As a B2B journalist, she enjoyed creating compelling stories about how entrepreneurs, executives and managers start and grow their businesses, succeed in their careers and manage their professional lives.

At San Francisco State University, where she studied Journalism and double majored in Technical and Professional Writing, Becky was the first digital editor for the university’s online publication in the early days of the internet.

In 2009, Becky launched one of the first online food allergy blogs in the U.S. and grew an online support group to more than 10,000 people across the country. As an advocate, she continues to blog, educate and empower those with food allergies on how to live safely and joyfully.

Passionate about serving the local community and helping K-12 students hone their communication skills, Becky volunteers her time and talents as an engineering coach and writing mentor. In 2015, she launched an all-girl’s middle school robotics team that won the state championship in North Carolina that year.

Outside the office, Becky enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years, their 19-year-old son and two rescue dogs. When she’s not at home by the pool with family and friends, she loves to travel, hike, go wine-tasting and explore small towns.
