Reflecting on my time spent at Furia Rubel Communications, I can say with confidence that their summer internship program gave me greater insight into both the public relations and marketing industries. The firm offered professional firsthand experience, giving me the opportunity to work with field experts.
During my internship, I was tasked with several duties including conducting research for clients, collecting media coverage, strategic planning, which provided me assistance when defining what direction to pursue on a certain assignment, drafting blog posts on different trending news topics, managing social media accounts, drafting press releases and assisting in the creation of public relations and marketing campaigns.
Working on different assignments broadened the scope on the types of projects I might encounter daily in my marketing and public relations profession. My everyday responsibilities provided me real world experiences and gave me the chance to submerse myself into public relations and marketing.
Throughout the course of my internship, I became quite familiar with new software and databases which served as tools to properly conduct specific and detailed research. These programs helped me effectively communicate with the team and support the company and its clients’ goals and deliverables.
The Furia Rubel team, with their vast industry knowledge, offered mentorship that was gratifying and made my experience pleasant. They guided and equipped me with the necessary tools to be successful in a career setting and, at the same time, gave me great insight into each industry. It was rewarding to know that the experiences I encountered and the work I performed, was not only valuable, but was making a positive impact on both Furia Rubel and their clients.
My summer internship with Furia Rubel Communications not only afforded me the opportunity to further my marketing and public relations experience but it also gave me a chance to broaden my knowledge specific to my major. Working for this company made me realize that the opportunities in public relations and marketing, while endless, require hard work and innovation. In daily fashion, I witnessed Furia Rubel revolutionize the public relations and marketing industries through their creative lead-not follow, approach to business and market trends. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at Furia Rubel Communications. It was an honor and privilege to intern with such a dynamic team.
