Crisis communications and public relations expert Gina Rubel will present “Managing the Media (ETHICS)” as part of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s (PBI) Employment Law Institute, 2020. Joining Rubel are Robin Bond of Transition Strategies and Theodore Simon, Esq., with Scott Goldshaw, Esq. of Salmanson Goldshaw, P.C. as moderator.
The program will cover the strategic advantages, as well as disadvantages, to having the media take an interest in your legal matter and how to handle the media when a case garners media attention while complying with the ethics rules. The panelists will provide insights on navigating Rule 3.6 governing trial publicity, reviewing case law and ethics opinions, communicating in a way your message can be heard, do’s and don’ts when it comes to talking with the media, managing media inquiries, having a plan for when the media comes calling, and working effectively with third-party partners such as PR firms and crisis agencies.
