With strong organizational skills and an excellent front office demeanor, Rose Strong joined Furia Rubel when the agency celebrated its 10th anniversary. Since then, she has served as the glue and the gatekeeper — fielding telephone calls and web queries, handling scheduling, managing day-to-day office matters, and a host of other responsibilities.
During her tenure at Cedar Crest College, Rose found her calling as a writer where she wrote a column on LGBT issues in the college newspaper, The Crestiad. She has served as a writer for the Bucks County Herald for which she covered municipal meetings, features and local news. Among a wide-range of topics, Rose discovered her niche as a writer about dogs and her articles have appeared in Fido Friendly magazine, Dog Fancy magazine, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Business Journal and Urban Farm magazine, among others.
Active in her local community, Rose is a former appointed member of the Springfield Township Historic Commission (2005-2017) and former chairperson of the Springfield Township Community Day (2007-2012) for which she handled marketing and publicity, managed volunteers and became a community liaison.
Rose enjoys a plethora of life experiences. She has worked in the culinary industry, elder-care food-service, greenhouse production management at an organic farm, customer service for a major health insurance company, administrative support to a department chief at a Lehigh Valley hospital, and as a freelance writer and culinary arts teacher.
While working full time, Rose attended Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, as a Lifelong Learning student. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Studio Art in 2005. Taking 10 years to attain the goal of wearing a cap and gown, she had experiences in college she couldn’t have had otherwise and is a vocal proponent of higher education for mature students.
In her free time, Rose concentrates on sculpture, using wool as the medium through a process called felting. She thinks art isn’t necessarily about the finished piece; it’s more about the path you travel to get from conception to completion. Creativity and problem-solving are often one and the same, and a problem-solver she is.
Rose shares her life and home with her wife and their many four-footed and feathered companions in Upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
