He has extensive experience analyzing web metrics and newsletter open rates and is an expert in crafting editorial strategies to bring in the right visitors and create content that will engage important, targeted audiences. Hank spent his entire career talking to law firm leaders, inhouse counsel and judges and getting them to engage and open up about their concerns and needs.

Prior to joining Furia Rubel, Hank served as the Editor-in-Chief, Legal Themes, Regional Brands and Law.com, ALM for more than six years. He was responsible for leading ALM’s legal newsroom, overseeing the 90+ reporters and editors who produced content for ALM’s U.S.-based legal publications, including The American Lawyer, National Law Journal and The New York Law Journal, as well the company’s flagship website, Law.com. He analyzed web metrics by brand and reporter, developed ALM’s content strategy, and executed it, leading to improved traffic performance and subscription sales. Hank was also responsible for the websites and print products. Prior to that, Hank served in numerous roles, including Regional Editor-in-Chief of ALM, leading 11 regional publications, including The New York Law Journal, The Legal Intelligencer (PA), The New Jersey Law Journal, Connecticut Law Tribune, The Daily Business Review (Miami), and Texas Lawyer.

Known for his digital-forward approach and ability to transform profitability, Hank instituted many strategic enhancements during his three-decade career including the development and launch of Mid-Market Pro and Delaware Business Court Insider, the integration of 12 siloed newsrooms into the global newsroom, receipt of more than 156 journalism awards, and achievement of a 75% improvement in year-over-year web metrics as a result of a digital-first strategy. His innovative mindset also led to the launch of new events in several states, significantly enhancing the offices’ revenue performance.

Hank’s strategic knack extends beyond just numbers – he’s a proven change agent, with a strong record of new product development and execution. This, coupled with his ability to manage large teams across multiple offices, has seen him successfully navigate challenging circumstances while fostering a positive culture – a mindset he also brings to Furia Rubel clients.
