As the Public Relations Account Manager, Daniel “Dan” Herron is the primary point of contact and strategic advisor for various Furia Rubel clients. He is a seasoned communications and marketing strategist based in Florida. With a successful career spanning over two decades, Dan has demonstrated proficiency in integrated communications, public relations, media relations, internal communications, crisis communications, content development, marketing and social media. He has a storied career having worked in politics, corporate in-house marketing departments, and at a nonprofit serving lawyers.
Prior to joining Furia Rubel, Dan spent 10 years working in corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies supporting their U.S. and international operations. He managed all internal communications channels, collaborated with leadership on thought leadership, and supported campaigns for various initiatives including speech writing, media training, presentation materials, cyber security awareness, nationwide digital signage networks, and overall communications strategies.
In an earlier role, Dan served as the marketing coordinator for the State Bar of Arizona where he developed and managed the annual strategic plan for their continuing legal education (CLE) programs and was responsible for the development of newsletters, collateral material, graphic design, bar publications, and social media. He is proud of transforming legal education in Arizona by expanding their programs into the digital era. His actions further helped to increase funding for community programs and member services of the state bar.
Dan’s career began in Washington D.C. serving various members of Congress before turning his talents to elected politics where he worked on numerous campaigns for public office. He moved on to lobbying and represented city and county governments at the Florida State Capitol, and has served as a political action coordinator for Arizona’s Credit Unions in Phoenix, AZ and Washington D.C.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from Stetson University, Dan is also certified as a Six Sigma Yellow Belt. His expert skills include website strategy, design and development, CMS management, communications analytics, graphic design, email marketing, public relations and branding.
When he is not at work, Dan is a member of many civic associations providing charitable opportunities to the community. He has also volunteered his time with local civic historical societies and has devoted many years to helping the Little Smiles organization fulfill its mission to help children in difficult circumstances in Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
