As a freelance consultant for Furia Rubel, Jackie supports multimedia content strategy and implementation for our clients and for the agency.
Jackie is an award-winning documentary photographer, a multimedia producer, and storyteller. Her work has been published and broadcast internationally in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
A former Fulbright Fellow (2011-12), Jackie worked in Jordan for several years, creating the foundation for a women-run social enterprise that provides refugees with fair-wage employment opportunities and skills training in the art of soap making. Through years of research and on-the-ground interaction, Jackie recognized a skewed narrative of Arab women in mainstream media that did not line up with the women she knew, whose stories exemplified female empowerment and perseverance. She began documenting the stories of women entrepreneurs and created a video series to help shed light on an alternative regional narrative. Not long thereafter, she took up a career in multimedia journalism and storytelling.
When she is not working alongside the Furia Rubel team, Jackie is producing multimedia packages for a variety of editorial outlets and non-profit clients, both regionally and internationally. She is a regular contributor to the Middle East-based podcast Kerning Cultures.
Jackie holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
