Furia Rubel Communications has hired Sarah Larson as Vice President of Public Relations. Larson oversees public relations handled on behalf of the agency’s clients and is managing all social media initiatives.

Prior to joining Furia Rubel, Larson served as Vice President of Media Strategy at DEETER where she oversaw strategic planning and executed media strategy for major accounts. An award-winning writer and reporter, Larson spent three years as editor of Doylestown Patch, an AOL community, where she became the definitive face of local news. She built and managed the hyper-local, around-the-clock, technology-based news and community website to become one of AOL’s most successful Patch platforms in the United States. Larson previously had spent several years as an in-depth enterprise and investigative reporter and editor with Calkins Media of Bucks County, which publishes The Intelligencer and the Bucks County Courier Times.
Larson relocated to the Philadelphia region from her hometown of Moline, Ill., where she started her journalism career with The Dispatch and The Argus in the Quad Cities region. She is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and spent two years in Hungary, where she taught English and traveled throughout Eastern and Western Europe and into Turkey.
