The JPPCLE is an annual one-day seminar that features knowledgeable speakers such as judges, government officials and attorneys discussing the latest trends and important topics in intellectual property law.

Penn Community Bank has received the 2017 Spirit of Habitat Award given by Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. The nonprofit presented the award as a way of thanking the bank for their continued support throughout the years.

Pennridge FISH, an organization providing food and clothing to those in need in the Pennridge School District in Perkasie, Pennsylvania, received $25,000 over five years from Penn Community Bank. The last donation of $5,000 was recently made, contributing to the group’s new location and building.

In other news for John D. Simmons of Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP: he represented Dominion Resources in Dominion Resources Inc. and Virginia Electric and Power Co. v. Alstom Grid Inc. A federal judge determined that Alstom Grid was guilty of patent infringement of Dominion’s energy-conservation software. The verdict was included in The Legal Intelligencer’s “Top Pennsylvania Verdicts of 2016.” Along with a team of highly skilled attorneys, Simmons secured $486,000 for his client.

The largest gaming convention in Pennsylvania, TooManyGames, will be at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center from June 23-25 celebrating their 10-year anniversary. The convention will have speakers, video and board games to try, vendors selling vintage games, musical entertainment and exhibits.
