The Portland Business Journal has reported that B. John Casey joined the office of Stoel Rives LLP as a partner in February. He will join the litigation team where his focus will be securities matters, fiduciary duty disputes, sports-related litigation (including lawsuits involving concussions and head trauma), consumer and employment class actions, and intellectual property.


Jeane Coyle, President and CEO of Penn Community Bank, was noted in the Philadelphia Business Journal for being elected as the 2017 president of the Bucks County Opportunity Council. She previously served the organization in the capacity of vice president.


The Philadelphia Business Journal reported that Ryan Hancock of the Philadelphia labor, employment, and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson, recently won a Community Service Award from Philadelphia’s 3rd Senatorial District, a distinction given for the work he’s been doing on behalf of the district.

In addition, the firm has been a sponsor of the JEVS Human Services program, Strictly Business 2016, to raise funds that support scholarships for those in need in Philadelphia.


The Legal Intelligencer noted that Matthew S. Olesh has joined the Philadelphia office of Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry. Olesh will focus on among other things, business litigation, matters involving antitrust, class actions, corporate governance, employment, insurance, international law and business disputes, real estate and defense.


In Boise, The Idaho Business Review reported that Wendy J. Olsen has joined the office of Stoel Rives LLP as a partner after many years in public service, most recently in the capacity of U.S. Attorney, sworn in by President Barak Obama in 2010.

Penn Community Bank was featured in the News-Herald for its donation to the United Way of Bucks County. The money was raised by a company-wide campaign of activities and fundraisers with the bank matching $25,000 bringing the total to $77K. In other news, the Bucks County Herald reports the bank has promoted five employees. Sara Friedman, Kristen L. Murphy, Max M. Nichols, Joshua P. Oravis and Joseph Thomas have all been installed in new positions as the bank strives to promote from within.


A new bank-at-work program, Workplace Connections, has been established by Penn Community Bank. The program brings no-cost financial literacy courses and banking services to local businesses and schools while helping to support Bucks County nonprofit organizations. 


 An article in the Idaho Business Review reported that attorney and Stoel Rives LLP’s Boise, Idaho, Office Managing Partner Nicole Hancock has been awarded the 2017 Kate Feltham Award. The award acknowledges women in the legal industry who go beyond their means to promote equality and opportunities for other women and minorities within the legal profession and legal justice system.
