The most important phone call I made during the planning of the Bucks County Covered Bridges Festival was to Furia Rubel. Their plan was meticulously formulated and implemented in a logical, step-by-step process. Their expertise, professionalism, attention to detail and media contacts have been instrumental in making the event a huge success. Perhaps just as important, their dedication, willingness to "get involved" and enthusiasm for my event have impressed me greatly.

Caitlan McCafferty - Public Relations Account Manager

After growing up in Bucks County, only a few miles away from the spot where George Washington crossed the Delaware River, Caitlan entered American University as a history major. Planning on turning her passion for American history into a career, she quickly became fascinated by the relationship between the media and history. She enjoys exploring the idea that communicators decide what is important in the public’s collective memory. Early on, Caitlan realized that her motivating interest was more focused on understanding and connecting with the media, as well as persuading an audience to listen to a particular message. She quickly added a Communication Studies major to her curriculum. Caitlan served as an intern with Visit Bucks County, the local conference and tourism bureau, and as a research associate at the Newseum, a museum sharing the history of the media. Her thesis explored how the media shaped our collective memory of the anti-Vietnam War movement.

After graduating from college, Caitlan came home to Bucks County. She began working professionally in communications with a post-graduate internship at the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia. This inspired her to pursue a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from her alma mater, American University. At the same time, Caitlan worked for a Philadelphia title insurance company where she explored the nuanced communication practices needed for professional services by creating strategies and building brand visibility, while forming strong relationships with real estate law firms. She also worked with and learned from the communications staff at Bucks County’s domestic violence shelter, A Woman’s Place, during her practicum for graduate school. She consulted on a marketing and public relations plan for the organization’s annual fundraiser, Chocolate Lovers’ Fantasy, and continues to volunteer with the nonprofit.

As a public relations account manager for Furia Rubel, Caitlan supports integrated communications strategy and implementation for all clients including traditional public relations, media relations, crisis communications, marketing and social media.

In her spare time, Caitlan explores Bucks County, Philadelphia and the region, enjoying museums and area attractions. She likes to travel the world and has spent time living in Dublin and exploring Europe during an undergraduate semester abroad. After college, Caitlan spent a month in Thailand, meeting elephants and avoiding mosquitos. On her most recent trip, she visited India, spending her time floating on the Ganges River and watching the sun rise over the Taj Mahal.

She is excited to bring her passion, past professional experiences and knowledge to her work at Furia Rubel.
